There’s no better indicator of a well-used playset then that patch of dirt on the ground where grass used to grow. That patch doesn’t happen overnight. It takes hours and hours of laughter, fun and enjoyment for that patch to take shape. That patch has depth, that patch has meaning and that patch has a story to tell. At least in this part of our yard, that dirt patch makes me smile…inside and out. If the grass is lush and green in that spot, then our playset becomes nothing more than a symbol of wasted potential.
Make sure your life is filled with more dirt patches than manicured lawns. In other words, choose substance over appearance, choose authenticity over perfection and get your ass out there, tear up the turf, and create some dirt patches in your life! Because, in the end, the dirt patches are the only thing that really matters…
